Worksheet
You’ve Got Mail! Letter Writing #3
Search for supporting evidence in this second-grade reading worksheet! Students will first read a short letter about a friend’s recent trip on an airplane. Then, learners are asked to identify who wrote the letter and why, underlining textual evidence to support their answers. Readers will also use context clues to determine the meaning of a homonym.
This activity will provide second graders with practice with finding textual evidence in a piece of writing. Learning how to support claims with evidence is an important skill as students later begin writing persuasive essays. Learners will also practice using context clues to answer questions and strengthen reading comprehension.
This worksheet is the last in a series of three. Don’t miss You’ve Got Mail! Letter Writing #1 and You’ve Got Mail! Letter Writing #2!
