Which Animal Can Live in This Habitat? Forest

Explore a forest habitat with this life science worksheet for second graders! Students will begin by writing a short description of a forest habitat. Then, scientists will read about how habitats provide for different needs of animals. To demonstrate their knowledge, learners will decide whether a bear, sea turtle, and deer could live in a forest and explain their reasoning.

This activity will demonstrate how the unique needs of an animal can be met by its habitat. Students can sharpen their critical thinking abilities as they think of each animal’s needs and decide whether or not a forest meets those needs. Learners will also get to explain their reasoning, which is a beneficial skill to have.
