Verbs in Action: Past or Present #2

Learn to tell the difference between actions taking place now and actions that already happened with this helpful verb tense worksheet! Students will be asked to read 10 engaging sentences, find the verb in each, then decide whether that verb is in the past tense or the present tense. In the second section of the worksheet, learners will write one sentence using a past-tense verb and one using a present-tense verb.

This worksheet is intended for third and fourth graders who are learning about simple grammatical tense. They will also practice identifying action verbs in two different tenses. A strong understanding of verbs and verb tenses can improve students’ grammar in their own writing.
