Transformations on the Coordinate Plane: Rotations Handout
Help students learn all about rotations on the coordinate plane with this one-page handout! A rotation is a type of transformation that turns a figure around a fixed point, called the center of rotation. This helpful reference sheet illustrates what happens to the coordinates of a figure when it is rotated clockwise or counterclockwise around the origin. Students are provided with two examples that show how to rotate a figure and describe a rotation. Designed for an eighth-grade geometry unit on transformations, this handout makes a great study guide for students to reference as they gain confidence applying these concepts in practice.
