Tic-Tac-Toe: Rhyming Words

Rhyme all the time with these delightful tic-tac-toe puzzles! Students will be asked to solve two tic-tac-toe boards by drawing an O over the word pairs that rhyme and an X over the word pairs that don’t rhyme. Then, they can look for the three in a row to get a tic-tac-toe! 

This worksheet was designed for kindergarteners and first graders learning about ending sounds and rhyming words. Practice with rhyming can help students develop phonemic awareness, which supports decoding skills. Learning about repeated sounds and patterns in words is vital for early literary development.
