Three-Digit Place Value Assessment

Ones, tens, and hundreds—oh my! Assess third graders’ knowledge of three-digit place values with this 20-problem worksheet. It’s especially useful for evaluating skills at the start of the school year.

In the first two sections, students determine the place value of a number. The next two sections involve rounding numbers to the nearest ten or hundred. In the last section, students need to compare two numbers using a greater than, less than, or equal sign.
