Syllable Chop: Closed Syllables

Split words into smaller syllables with this smart worksheet! Learners will read 10 two-syllable words that each have two closed syllables, or syllables that end with a consonant and usually have a short vowel sound. They will need to break each word into its two syllables, then underline the vowels. 

Designed for first and second graders, this worksheet is a great choice for helping young readers understand word structure.
