Semicolons: Using Conjunctive Adverb #2

Conjunctive adverbs can be tricky; regardless, you can master them with this helpful middle school worksheet! First, learners will read a brief introduction that describes how to use conjunctive adverbs with semicolons. Students will read eight pairs of sentences, then combined them into a single sentence using a semicolon and a conjunctive adverb from the word bank.

This worksheet was designed for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders learning about the different ways to connect independent clauses and structure complex sentences for smoother, clearer writing. A strong understanding of both conjunctive adverbs and semicolons can make students stronger readers and writers.
