Roll a Word: Long I CVCe

Use a dice to build words and grow your vocabulary with this open-ended phonics worksheet! Students will need a six-sided dice for this activity. Each side of the dice has been assigned a word ending, provided at the top of the worksheet. For each row on the table, students will roll the dice and add the word ending to the given beginning letter. Then they will need to determine if the word they have created is a real word or a nonsense word, circling their answer! Geared toward first- and second-grade learners, this engaging reading worksheet is a great way to give students hands-on practice decoding long I CVCe words, while guiding them towards reading fluency.
