Worksheet

Roll a Word: Long A CVCe

Students use a dice to build words—and their vocabulary!—with this hands-on phonics worksheet! Students will need a six-sided dice for this activity. Each side of the dice has been assigned a word ending, provided at the top of the worksheet. For each row on the table, students will roll the dice and add the word ending to the given beginning letter. Then they will need to determine if the word they have created is a real word or a nonsense word! Geared toward first- and second-grade learners, this engaging reading worksheet is a unique way to give students helpful practice decoding long A CVCe words, while preparing them for decoding and reading words fluently in texts. For more practice, be sure to also check out the Roll a Word: Long I CVCe and Roll a Word: Long O CVCe worksheets.
