Roll a Word: Beginning Consonant Digraphs

Provide students with beginning consonant digraphs word-building practice using this hands-on phonics worksheet! Learners will need a six-sided dice for this activity. Each side of the dice has been assigned a beginning consonant digraph: sh, ch, wh, th, or ph. For each row on the table, students will roll the dice and add the beginning consonant digraph to the given word ending. Then learners will need to use their phonics knowledge to decide if the word they have created is a real word or a nonsense word! Geared toward kindergarten and first-grade learners, this engaging reading worksheet is a unique way to give students helpful practice decoding words with beginning consonant digraphs.
