Worksheet

Reversible and Irreversible Changes

Can melted wax turn back into solid wax? Can scrambled eggs turn back into raw eggs? Learn the answers to these questions and more with this second-grade worksheet about reversible and irreversible changes! Students will begin this activity by reading about how heating or cooling can change matter. Then, young scientists must review images of five different changes and decide whether the images depict a reversible or irreversible change.

Through this practice, learners will be able to see how substances can change and identify whether those changes can be reversed. Understanding the difference between reversible and irreversible changes is an important first step in learning about physical and chemical changes.
