Present Progressive Tense Verbs: A Day at the Beach

Take an educational beach trip with this worksheet about present progressive tense verbs! Fourth and fifth graders will read about a fun trip to the beach and determine the verb in each of nine sentences. Students will then rewrite each present tense verb in the present progressive tense.

Present progressive tense indicates that an action is currently happening, allowing young writers to provide more detail for their readers. Learners will become more proficient readers and writers as they become familiar with different verb tenses.

If students need a review, first check out the Use the Present Progressive Tense worksheet. For more practice, try Present Progressive Tense: Trip to the Science Museum.
