Possessive Nouns: Write the Room

Teach students about possessive nouns with this fun activity! Learners will complete the sentences on the first page by adding a possessive noun. To find out what possessive noun to use, they will need to find and interpret the clues placed around the room. First, an adult will need to post the clue cards on the second page in different locations around the room for students to find. Each student participating will need their own copy of the first page, but the second page of this worksheet only needs to be printed once. Try laminating the cards to keep them for repeated use!

Using “write the room” activities like this one is a great way to add variety to a lesson plan and get students excited about learning. This activity is designed to give second and third graders practice using apostrophes to form possessives, an important skill in grammar.
