Personification: Bring Your Writing to Life

Put your creative side to work with this fun writing activity! Students will learn about personification, a type of figurative language that uses human characteristics to describe nonhuman things. Then, they’ll pick words from categories such as weather, nature, and food, and write their own sentence personifying each!

This worksheet is intended for fifth through eighth graders learning about the different types of figurative language.
