Worksheet
Past Perfect Verbs: Lights, Camera, Action!
Past perfect tense takes the spotlight in this theater-themed grammar worksheet! A brief introduction describes the function of past perfect tense in describing two or more past actions in order. In part one, learners will choose which of three verbs correctly completes each past perfect tense sentence. Then, in part two, students can finish each sentence on their own as they write the past perfect verb.
This worksheet was designed for fifth through eighth graders learning about grammatical tenses beyond simple past, present, and future. The past perfect tense serves an important purpose by showing that one past event has happened before another past event. Learning this tense can make students stronger readers and writers. In this worksheet, students will also practice using subject-verb agreement and helping verbs!
