Number Line Division With Remainders #1

Hop down a number line to divide in this helpful fourth-grade worksheet! In each of the six problems, students will solve the division equation by showing repeated subtraction on the number line. They can subtract until they can’t anymore, then find the remainder and the quotient, represented by the number of times they subtracted. 

Use this worksheet to improve students’ understanding of division and show how division is connected to subtraction. They can learn that, even if a number does not divide evenly, the number left over is the remainder. Students will also practice using number lines to represent abstract equations.
