Novel Study: The Lightning Thief: Movie Study

After students have finished reading The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, have them watch the movie adaptation in order to compare the written and visual forms of the story! This two-page extension activity begins with a graphic organizer that students will use to record the similarities and differences between the novel and film, as well as how the experience of reading the book differed from that of watching the movie. Then, on page two, students will dive deeper into their analysis as they answer several short-answer questions and share their opinion about which version they prefer.
