Worksheet
Novel Study: The Hunger Games: District Journal Entries
After reading The Hunger Games, encourage students to think critically about the setting of the novel with this creative writing worksheet! Readers are first asked to jot down notes from the book about each of the twelve districts and the Capitol. They will then use those notes, as well as additional details from the story, to write two separate journal entries from the perspective of a citizen of one of the districts. In their journal entries, learners will reflect on the setting of The Hunger Games and imagine how that setting might affect an individual living in the novel’s dystopian society.
