Novel Study: The Giver: Memories Interview

After finishing the novel The Giver by Lois Lowry, give students a chance to “receive” a memory from someone they know with this engaging extension activity! Students will interview a family member or neighbor and record one of their most important memories in as much detail as possible. Then, students will write a reflection about their experience. This worksheet is a great opportunity to practice writing, speaking, and listening skills and provides a way for students to connect more deeply with the novel and with others.
