Worksheet
Novel Study: Holes: Movie Study
Watch Louis Sachar’s Holes come to life in the movie adaptation! Learners can view the Holes movie and think about how it is similar to and different from the book. The first page of this worksheet is a graphic organizer that students can use to compare the experience of reading the book to the experience of watching the movie. In the second page, students will answer questions about what scenes were added or removed from the movie and why they think those choices were made, which version of the story affected them more, how they would adapt the book, and more! Use this worksheet to close out a unit on the novel Holes while also giving fourth, fifth, and sixth graders practice analyzing film and visual media.
