Novel Study: Holes: Discussion Guide #2
Check students’ understanding and analysis of chapters 13 through 28 of Louis Sachar’s Holes with this discussion guide! Page one of this guide covers chapters 13–20, while page two covers chapters 21–28. Each page includes 10 comprehension questions about the characters and events in the relevant chapters. There are also two analysis questions for each chapter group that ask students to consider topics such as what they think the boys at Camp Green Lake are digging holes for and why Stanley decides to help Zero learn to read and write. Also included are prompts for students to connect their personal lives to the events in the story. Use these questions to help develop students’ reading comprehension, character analysis, and inference-making skills. This guide is part of a larger novel study of Louis Sachar’s Holes that is intended for fourth through sixth graders.
