Novel Study: Holes: Camp Song

Engage your creative side with this musical companion activity to a unit on Louis Sachar’s Holes! Learners will be asked to write a camp song or chant from the perspective of the D Tent boys based on their experiences at Camp Green Lake. This worksheet gives them space to brainstorm the types of topics, words, and phrases they might want to use in their song. Then, they can write their final song and give it a title. A few starting prompts are provided for students who are struggling with ideas for their song. When they’re done, students can stage a performance of their song or record a video of it!
