Worksheet

Multiplication as Scaling: Sorting Expressions #1

Test your knowledge of fraction multiplication with this essential fifth-grade worksheet! In each of these three problems, students are presented with a series of multiplication expressions. All expressions within a problem contain one consistent factor that is multiplied by a different whole number, fraction, or mixed number. Without multiplying, students will need to decide if the product of each expression will be less than, equal to, or greater than the consistent factor.

This worksheet is a great choice to help students better understand multiplying by fractions. Scaling practice builds fraction number sense, which is valuable for students as they continue to learn more about fractions, decimals, and other advanced math skills!
