Make Ten to Add With Number Bonds: Part 3
Master making ten to help you solve addition problems in this helpful worksheet! In each of these nine problems, students will be presented with an addition sentence that has two single-digit addends. Learners will need to draw a number bond to break apart one of the addends to make a ten, creating a simpler addition sentence. Then, they’ll rewrite and solve that new equation.
Designed for first and second graders, this worksheet gives students practice with the strategy of making tens. As students become more familiar with this strategy, they can use it to quickly and accurately solve addition problems. They will also work on their addition fact fluency and their mental math skills!
