Worksheet

Make Ten to Add Matching: Cut and Paste

Master the make 10 strategy for solving addition problems in this helpful worksheet! In each of the six problems, learners will be presented with a number sentence that includes two single-digit addends. They will need to break apart one of the addends to make 10. Then, they’ll cut out the addition sentences at the bottom of the page and paste them next to the matching problem.

Intended for first and second graders, this worksheet is a great resource for helping students better understand how they can use 10s to make addition easier. This skill builds young mathematicians’ foundation in base 10 fluency and helps prepare them to add larger numbers.
