Worksheet

Make 10 to Add: Cut-and-Paste Puzzler #2

Strengthen students’ single-digit addition skills with this hands-on worksheet! First and second graders will have the opportunity to practice sums up to 20, working through six different problems. Learners will cut out the numbers at the bottom of the page, then paste each one in the correct box to complete the equations.

Making 10 is a great method for adding multiple single-digit numbers. Practicing this strategy will also help students build number fluency and recognize combinations that make 10. Knowing addition strategies, such as making 10, can help prepare students for multi-digit addition and more complex math problems later on.

This worksheet is second in a series of two. Don't miss Make Ten to Add: Cut-and-Paste Puzzler #1 for another hands-on activity! Students can also work through the Make 10 to Add Three Numbers: Circle and Solve worksheet for more practice.
