Worksheet
Practice Intermediate Directions
Help the townspeople find their way! This worksheet helps students in third grade understand and identify intermediate directions using a town map.
Once third graders have a good grasp of cardinal directions, they can work on using intermediate directions to navigate. Students begin by labeling a compass rose with both cardinal and intermediate directions. Then, they answer five multiple-choice questions about people traveling through town and how they get from one place to another.
For an additional challenge, have students complete the Intermediate Directions worksheet, where they’ll have to use the compass rose to fill in the blanks for seven map-based direction sentences.
