Worksheet
Identify Subject and Object Pronouns
Subject and object pronouns: Can you tell the difference between them? In this worksheet, students will read a series of sentences and determine whether a bolded word in each sentence is a subject or object pronoun. Definitions and examples of both types of pronoun are provided at the top of the page, reminding students that subject pronouns (such as I, she, and he) tell who is doing something and tend to be at the beginning of a sentence, while object pronouns (such as me, her, and him) are used after an action verb or preposition.
These 10 questions are great practice for third and fourth graders learning about the different types of pronouns. Knowledge of pronouns can help learners better understand the English language, vary their sentence structure, and provide clarity in their writing.
