Worksheet

Identify and Write Present Progressive Tense Verbs: Snow Day

Try using this worksheet while you are learning about the present progressive tense! Students will read ten sentences about snow day activities, all written in the simple present tense. To complete the worksheet, students will need to circle the verb in each sentence, then rewrite it so that it is in the present progressive tense.

Designed for fourth and fifth graders, this worksheet is a great choice for helping students understand the difference between progressive and simple present tense. While these two tenses appear similar, they have slightly different meanings: present progressive describes an action happening currently, while simple present can describe a current action as well as a habitual or continuous action. Make sure students can use both with this seasonal worksheet!
