Hundreds Chart Subtraction: Missing Number Cut and Paste

Hop backwards to subtract in this hands-on math worksheet! Young mathematicians will be asked to find the missing number in each subtraction equation by using a hundred chart. An example shows students how to “hop” backwards from the minuend to the difference to find the missing number. Students can then cut out the numbers at the bottom of the page and paste them in the correct place in each equation.

This worksheet was designed for first and second graders starting to learn about subtraction within 100. Each equation has a two-digit minuend and a one-digit subtrahend, giving students accessible practice that can help introduce them to the world of two-digit subtraction.
