Worksheet

Human Impact: Water Pollution

Students explore the impact of water pollution and conduct their own case study with this two-page environmental science worksheet! Designed for middle school learners, this worksheet begins with an overview of the different sources of water pollution and provides a case study on the impact water pollution has had on Onondaga Lake and the surrounding environment. Then, using textbooks, online resources, and the guiding questions on page 2, learners will conduct their own water pollution case study! Young scientists will research the sources and environmental impact of pollution in a body of water of their choice. From there, they will research what can be done to reduce the impact pollution has had on the environment. This engaging worksheet can be used as an independent or partner activity in a human impact unit of an environmental or life science course.
