Worksheet

Groceries Galore! Choose the Correct Metric Mass Units

Go on a massive shopping spree with metric units in this measurement worksheet! In each of these eight problems, students will be presented with a grocery item, like a carton of milk or a watermelon. They will need to decide which of the two measurements (in grams or kilograms) would be a better estimate for the mass of each object.

This worksheet is a great way for students to get a better sense for the approximate value of metric mass units in the real world. Learners can connect abstract measurement units to tangible objects they are already familiar with. An understanding of grams and kilograms is foundational for later concepts in math and science.
