Exploring Fossils: Clues from the Past #5
Analyze fossils with this engaging science worksheet! Students will begin their archeologic journey by reading a brief paragraph about body and trace fossils. Learners are then shown images of three different fossils: a crinoid, a Turritella shell, and a Glossopteris branch. Students will review each image, then answer questions about what the fossil may be and where it originated.
Geared toward third graders, this investigative worksheet will guide learners to make observations, form evidence-based conclusions, and think critically about each fossil. This activity can also prompt discussions about each fossil’s origins and what it can tell us about its former environment.
