Exploring Economic Systems

Use this two-page social studies worksheet to introduce middle school students to the four types of economic systems: traditional, market, command, and mixed. Students will learn about the defining characteristics and the role the government plays in each type of system. Then young economists will read through several scenarios and use what they've learned to identify which economic system is being described in each one.
