Expanding Sentences: Mysteries

When solving a mystery, the most important questions to ask are how? when? where? and why? These are also the most important questions to answer when you expand sentences with more details! In this worksheet, students are given a set of simple sentences that they will need to expand by adding creative, new details, such as adjectives and supplemental information. 

This worksheet is a great way for fifth through eighth graders to flex their creative muscles while also learning about all the ways they can add excitement and specificity to their writing.
