Worksheet

Estimating Measurements Around the House

Take a tour of items in your home as you practice estimating length in this engaging worksheet! These nine problems each include a picture of a household object and encourage learners to find or think about the same item in their own house. Then, learners will select which of the two options would be a better estimate for the length, width, or height of each object in inches and feet.

This worksheet was designed with a second-grade curriculum in mind. It’s a great choice for showing students how their measurement and estimation skills can be used in real life. Learners will need to think about the difference between two common units of length in the customary system of measurement, preparing them to make their own estimates of length.
