Worksheet
Estimating Lines of Best Fit
Scatter plots can show associations, or relationships, between two variables. When there is a linear association on a scatter plot, a line of best fit can be used to represent the data. In this eighth-grade algebra worksheet, students will review examples of a few different types of associations. Then they will practice estimating lines of best fit, sketching them on various scatter plots, and describing the associations. Being able to estimate and sketch lines of best fit is a helpful way to prepare students to solve problems with real-world data sets!
