Engineering Design Process Part 4: Comparing Results and Redesign

Introduce students to the fourth step of the engineering design process with this helpful template! This worksheet builds upon the work students did on the Engineering Design Part 3 worksheet by guiding them through the fourth step of the engineering design process: comparing results and redesigning. Using this two-page worksheet to guide them, students will collaborate with other learners who worked on the same design challenge to:

• Evaluate the best features of each design
• Optimize the design solution by redesigning their prototype to incorporate the best features of each design
• Reflect upon the success of the optimized prototype
