End of Year Assessment: Sight Words

Oh, how far they’ve come! Kindergarten students work on memorizing sight words all year. Teachers use this end-of-year assessment worksheet to assess students’ ability to recognize common sight words.

The worksheet includes 75 kindergarten sight words, from the one-letter “a” to more difficult words like “three” and “please.” Working one-on-one with students, teachers point to each sight word and circle any the student can read by sight. After going through the chart, teachers mark how many words the student was able to read.
