Composing 3D Shapes: Matching

You know about 2D shapes, now get ready to learn your 3D shapes in this colorful worksheet! The first column of pictures shows structures made up of two or more 3D shapes, such as cones, cylinders, spheres, and cubes. Learners will need to match each shape building to the picture in the second column that shows the shapes that were used to make it.

Intended for first and second graders, this worksheet is a great way to introduce students to 3D shapes. Challenging students to think about what makes up these structures can improve their spacial reasoning and help them start thinking of real-life objects in terms of the shapes that compose them.
