Complete the Food Chains

Learn about food chains in this cut-and-paste worksheet! To start, young scientists will read a brief definition of a food chain and review an example. Then, students are challenged to complete a meadow food chain and an ocean food chain. Learners will cut out each image at the bottom of the page, determine whether the picture best fits in a meadow or an ocean, then determine the correct order of the food chain.

This worksheet helps first graders see the relationship between the animals and plants found in a food chain.  By grouping the images and gluing them into the correct spots, students will start making connections about how these animals depend on one another for food.
