Choose the Right Unit: Liquid Volume

Learn to estimate volume and select the right metric unit for measurement in this inviting worksheet! Each of these eight problems will present students with a common object that holds liquid, such as a water bottle or a bathtub. Students will need to choose whether liters or milliliters would be a better unit to measure the volume the object can hold.

This worksheet is a great choice for third graders learning about the different metric units they can use to find volume. Students can get a stronger grasp on the relative size of a milliliter versus a liter. This skill can be useful in students’ real lives when they must deal with liquid measurements.
