Cards, Triangles, and Patterns

Encourage your third grader to use his knowledge of addition and subtraction to solve these puzzles. Each problem consists of three triangles, formed from a deck of playing cards. The triangles follow a pattern, created by a simple addition or subtraction fact. Challenge your child to figure out the pattern and fill in the missing cards.
