Card Sort: Linear and Nonlinear Functions
Practice identifying and differentiating between linear and nonlinear functions in tables, graphs, and equations in this hands-on card sort activity! Designed for eighth-grade learners, this two-page math worksheet asks students to cut out and sort 18 cards into either a linear function or a nonlinear function group. In order to identify linear functions, learners will search for graphs of a straight line, equations that can be written in slope-intercept form, or tables with a constant rate of change.
