Calculating the Area of an Octagon

In this geometry worksheet, your child will learn that finding the area of multi-sided polygons, like octagons, is simpler than it seems. Dividing an octagon into rectangles, trapezoids, and triangles first, then finding the area of each simpler shape makes the job much easier. In this worksheet, your child will divide each octagon into other shapes, then write the names of the new shapes on the line. At the end, they'll use what they've learned to find the area of the final octagon using the measurements given.
