Build a City: Compose Numbers 19–20

Construct a thriving metropolis with this colorful addition worksheet! Learners will fill in the windows of each building by writing addition equations that equal the number above the roof. Once students have completed all of the addition sentences, they will count the total number of equations in each building and write that number in the respective cloud.

Created for a second-grade curriculum, this worksheet will help young mathematicians build fact fluency. Learners can see how many ways they can compose 19 and 20, and students can also see the commutative property of addition at work.
