Build a City: Compose Numbers 13–14

Construct a colorful city with this engaging addition worksheet! To complete each building, students are asked to write addition equations that equal the number on the roof. Once learners fill in each window, they will count how many number sentences they wrote down for each sum and write their answer in the corresponding cloud.

Created for second graders, this worksheet will help strengthen learners’ addition fact fluency. When complete, this page will also serve as a reference guide on all the ways to compose 13 and 14. This activity also demonstrates the commutative property of addition.
