Worksheet
Build a City: Compose Numbers 1–5
Construct your own math city with number sentences in this colorful second-grade worksheet! Learners will be asked to determine how many addition number sentences can be used to construct each number from 1 to 5. Then, they’ll need to write out those number sentences to fill in the windows of each building.
This worksheet is a great way for students to review their basic addition facts. Seeing all of the number sentences for each number in one place can help students truly master addition fact fluency. Learners can also clearly see that the order of addends in a number sentence does not affect the sum.
Keep on building with the next two worksheets in this series: Build a City: Compose Numbers 6–8 and Build a City: Compose Numbers 9–10.
