Book Study: The Great Fire: Natural Disaster Research Project

After reading Jim Murphy’s The Great Fire, help learners make connections between the book and their community with this engaging extension activity. Readers will choose a region and a natural disaster to research, and then they will design a public service announcement or infographic to inform people how to stay safe during a natural disaster. Designed for fifth- and sixth-grade learners, this two-page worksheet guides students through the process of designing and planning a project.
